Luigi Amati (1940), designer in the studio of the faience and tile factory Westraven in Utrecht.
He designed a series of trade tiles, inspired by Jan Luyken's famous trade illustrations.
Amati's tiles display caricature-style images.
This tile "de Bouwnijverheid" is designed in high relief. The tile is marked on the back with Westraven, Utrecht, Holland.
